And do it regularly, not just when you can fit it in. 

  • They focus on their goals

 Fulfilled people usually have a set of goals they want to achieve. Not an impossible laundry list, but a small number of achievable, meaningful goals that will challenge but not overwhelm them. Keeping your goals attainable sets you up for success and greater happiness. 

  • They are comfortable with imperfection

 Perfectionists are almost guaranteed to be unhappy, dissatisfied people. You’re much more likely to feel fulfilled if you set yourself high but not impossible standards, where each success is a stepping stone towards meeting your goals. Match this with a commitment to continually look for opportunities to improve, without beating yourself up, and you will move ahead in leaps and bounds. 

  • They are kind

 Take a look at the people you notice are happy, and you’ll notice one thing in particular that they share. Happy people are almost universally kind and generous. They help others, they let other drivers into the traffic, they hold the door or the elevator. Not for any other reason than it’s a kind thing to do. And as an added bonus, making other people happy makes you happy too. 

  • They give it their best shot

 Fulfilled people focus on what they do and give it their best shot. If you give it your all, it doesn’t matter too much whether you win or lose. So, focus on what you love, and do it to the best of your abilities. Enjoy the process and don’t worry so much about the outcome.
